Shaving With Castile Soap, Without a Brush or a Can
Rub a little between wet hands and lather. The shortest recipe on the label, and the one that saves the most shelf space.

Canned shaving foam is mostly propellant, water and surfactants, sold at a price that has very little to do with what is in it. The label recipe for shaving is one sentence long and needs no equipment at all.
Shaving: Rub a little between wet hands to create a lather. Face, underarms or legs.
No brush, no bowl, no dilution bottle. Wet hands, a small amount of soap, rub palms together, apply.
A shaving lather has one job: hold water against the skin so hair softens, and let the blade glide without dragging. It does not need to be the stiff, dry foam that comes out of a can. That texture is a marketing artifact, not a functional requirement.
This soap is made with an organic blend of prickly pear, argan, jojoba, sweet almond and hemp oils. Those oils stay behind on the skin after the blade passes, which is the part canned foam usually removes and then sells back to you as aftershave balm.
Start with less than you think. The soap is 2-3 times more concentrated than ordinary liquid soap, so a small squeeze in a wet palm produces more lather than expected. If it feels thin, you used too much water; if it drags, you used too little.
Let the lather sit on the skin for thirty seconds before the first pass. That soak is what actually softens the hair, and it is the step most people skip.
Same method, more surface area, so mix in the palm a section at a time rather than trying to lather a whole leg at once. In the shower, warm water has already done the softening for you.
A soap lather carries more of the shaved hair with it than a synthetic gel does, so rinse the razor more frequently than you are used to. Keep the lather out of your eyes.
The soap is unscented, so there is nothing added for fragrance sitting on freshly shaved skin. For a lot of people that is the actual reason to switch.
